The PinPort™ is available with 22ga, 25ga or 28ga couplers to mate with 3Fr, 2Fr or PE10 catheters, respectively. The white or red colors can be used to distinguish vessels. Use only PNP3M injectors or PinPort connectors to access PinPorts; any other type of needle will damage the port. All parts are provided sterilized by ethylene oxide.
The PinPort™ is designed for short-term intermittent, manual access. It is not designed to be connected to a tether and swivel for remote or continuous access. The port must be placed so that the animal cannot reach it; this can be impossible with mice. For long-term or tethered applications use the related Vascular Access Button™ for rats and mice.
