Senior Electronics Technician

Instech is a manufacturer in the global pre-clinical research market. We are looking for a Senior Electronics Technician to be a key member of our production and field service teams. You will report to the Director of Mechanical Engineering & Production.

Responsibilities:

  • Hand assembly of electronic components for research
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of analog and digital circuitry
  • Provide service and customer support during field service visits
  • Repair, install, and inspect electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings or specifications
  • Troubleshoot boards down to component level
  • Determine material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; take appropriate action to meet those needs and make repairs
  • Educate the customer on how to use and maintain their devices

Requirements and Expectations:

  • Associate’s degree or technical school certification, required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an Electronics Technician, required
  • Soldering experience, required
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, required
  • Desire to travel for field service, required
  • Ability to read schematics, required
  • Management experience, preferred
  • Database experience, preferred
  • Able to pass a background check

Physical Demands:

  • Bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing

Work Environment:

  • Electronics lab

Instech is a manufacturer in the global pre-clinical research market and looking for a  Customer Service Representative to be a key member of our customer service team. You will report directly to the Customer Service Manager, be a part of a global six-person Customer Service team, and work closely with our sales team. Our collective task is to deliver on our promise of being a friendly team knowledgeable about our applications and products who delivers great customer service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Help Instech deliver on one of our core strategic missions of providing excellent customer service
  • Process orders, respond to customer inquiries and generate quotes that come in by email, web, phone and trade shows
  • Maintain customer database (SalesForce.com CRM) and coordinate follow-up activities
  • Work closely with manufacturing and shipping personnel to meet customers’ requirements
  • Collaborate with management teams to stay updated on new products, services, and policies
  • Be available to support customers by phone from 9AM – 5PM EST
  • Respond to technical application and product related questions
  • Create and maintain a positive customer experience
  • Willingness to help out in other areas as needed

Requirements and Expectations:

  • Customer service experience
  • Must be computer savvy
  • 1+ years of experience with SalesForce.com, preferred
  • Clear, confident, and effective communicator, over the phone, through email (to customers), and in person (with team)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience or interest in the pharmaceutical research industry
  • Ability to convey technical concepts accurately and clearly
  • Capable of working with a diverse workforce and customer base
  • Strategic thinker who possesses the ability to anticipate problems and find solutions
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Good time-management, possessing the ability to balance priorities
  • Able to pass a background check
  • This is a hybrid or in-person position, with the offices located in Plymouth Meeting, PA

Compensation

Given the nature of our market and the structure of the sales team, this role does not have quotas or commissions.
