What are the benefits of top-down cuvette stirring?

Unlike magnetic stirrers, the top-down stirrers don't require any modifications to the spectrophotometer. Also the flat blade won't grind your cell suspensions like stir bars. The stirring action is similar to stirring your coffee with a spoon.

Do your stirrers have a place to make additions to the cuvette?

Yes, at the corners.

Won't the propeller blade block the light beam?

Yes, as supplied they will block most beams. They are deliberately long so that you can cut them just above the beam for optimal stirring in every application.
