PegasusŪ Infusion Pumps

Simply put, Pegasus® is the most versatile, high-tech infusion pump available for laboratory animal infusion. It is the only high-volume pump suitable for tetherless infusion of rabbits or nonhuman primates. And its micropulse technology and low flow rates enable its use in tethered rodents. Pegasus® can be as basic or as advanced as the user requires. On the basic level, Pegasus® can be programmed pushing the buttons on its display for continuous infusion...start and stop time and day can also be programmed in this manner. On the advanced level, Pegasus® can be programmed via PC to perform any number of customized infusion profiles.

 

Two models are available: the micro-piston based VARIO and the peristaltic LIGHT.

 

Benefits of Micro-Pulses

Because the pulses generated by the Pegasus mechanism are smaller than many other infusion pumps, the flow profile at the low infusion rates required by many laboratory animal infusion studies is much more continuous. This can affect the animal's physiology and study data.
